Quilt Along #4

I'm almost late getting this one done! I had to go find some more coordinating fabric so it took me a while to get this one finished. Even though I'm still not good at them, I'm getting more comfortable with triangles - thanks AmandaJean! This one didn't turn out quite so well with the corners matching... don't look very close!
This afternoon, I took a break from sewing stuff and did a little project with my daughter... It was a kit, really pretty easy, but lots of fun for her! Check out our little Christmas tree! We don't have our real one up yet, I'm just not sure where to put it - our little house is too full of oversized furniture! Yes, those are grass stains on her knees... I have a tree-climbing-princess-drama-queen, and I love her!
I also made a cute gift for my sweet girly - here's a peek! I just kind of made a mini version of the japanese patchwork purse for her. I made it with just 6 panels to each side, and scaled down the panels some too... I also decided one strap was enough for a little girl to keep track of. She's always saying I don't make anything for her - little does she know! Ha ha! My girl loves Pink, so of course it had to be pinky pink and I added some green too!

Cute, cute purse Em! I am sure that your girl will LOVE it. You really are squeezing in some great sewing time amidst all the busy-ness. Did you just pick out those fabrics? I love the paisley print! That is going to look really good.

I know what you mean about finding a place for your tree. It seems like we are more alike every time I read your blog... We live in a little Cape Cod that also has a weird layout. Every year we put up our tree right in front of the front door. There's no other place for it. It's confusing for the FedEx man but otherwise, it works. The cookie tree looks yummy though - what a fun mom you are.

oh my gosh! it's SO much better than mine will be!

I just got my machine back from the shop, but instead of doing my blocks, I chose to make cookies with my daughter instead. ;)

(and that clip was from Electric company - and I totally remember it - but it wasn't so creepy then)
