Whirlwind tour of the last week or so...

SO, we have been a very busy family this last week or so... here is a little re-cap of the fun stuff we've been up to:
I took the kids to visit with my Grandparents and we saw some Clydesdale horses - they're HUGE! Their hooves are the size of a large dinner plate! They wear horseshoes which weigh about 3 pounds each and are custom cut by computer so they fit perfectly! These horses were so gentle and sweet, they are obviously well taken care of and used to many people petting them.
Oh yeah - Taylor Anne and I got our hair cut short for Summer!!!
Taylor Anne brought her new webkins 'Clyde' to meet some 'real' horses!
We were excited to ride on the stage coach - we (yes Anderson too!) got to climb up onto the back and ride around the parking lot!
There was a great bluegrass group playing during the festivities! It was wonderful!
It was great to visit with Great Boo and Nick-Nick!
The next day we headed for The NC Zoo - you've already seen some pictures... here are some more from that trip:
Hmm... you think these guys get fed picnic scraps much?
Timber wolf
Silly Zoo animals!

American Bison
Kiddos with the Sea Lions
We camped for the first time during our zoo trip - and it was fun! I was afraid we might be up all night with the little man, but he did great! It took a little convincing to get him to realize the tent was for sleeping, not playing, but he calmed down and ended up singing himself to sleep... "La, La, La, La..."

After the Zoo trip, we headed home for another week of school and such... I got the Emmeline apron all cut out and machine sewn together, I am SO happy with this pattern! I can't wait to see what my Sassy Apron swap partner thinks about it! (More completed pictures soon!)

The hand sewing was done on the Memorial weekend trip to Holden Beach with my husband's family!
Hanging out with Pop-Pop on the dock!
Mike's cousin Nita helped make sure the kids didn't fall into the water!
Luckily we brought our net so we could catch tiny little crabs and shrimp in the canal behind the beach house!

We took a ferry to the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher - it was a rainy day at the beach.
Taylor Anne showed Anderson the way around the aquarium.
I love the aquarium!
Shell seeker!
This is the ocean, little brother...

Anderson loves the Beach!
Boogie board girl!

She was great - I have a video... may share later...
" My Boat" The sweet boy thought EVERY boat/ship/yacht he saw was HIS, so we ended up getting him one of his own...
Bye-Bye Beach!
This concludes our tour... I hope you enjoyed the weekend too!

Looks like you had a busy and fun weekend. You took some excellent photos. I'm usually too disorganized to even bring the camera let alone take pictures.

Those pictures are amazing - especially the ocean shots!! It looks like a fabulous time - what great memories your family has of this weekend together! But my question is - how on earth did you get up on that stagecoach?!

The light in your ocean pictures is amazing...I just love pics from vacations...they have all the smiles and none of the rushings and constant feedings and sometimes whinings...Not that you guys do that sort of thing, but the pictures always capture the beautiful memory of the feeling of being all together and being a family. Love them!
