Sassy!

I mailed out my Sassy Summer Apron Swap apron today (the Emmeline in summery colors)... at the last minute of course! I hope the woman who receives it loves it as much as I liked making it! I don't know if she's a reader of this blog, so I won't give away who it is, but here's a hint - my apron won't be traveling far... I am definitely making more of that pattern - I love how it looks and the construction is straight forward.
Look at what I got in the mail the other day: It's the Apron for me - from my summer swapper. It's great! I love the colors, they are "Me" for sure. It's also pretty sassy! The apron is reversable, so if I get one side all dirty, and people show up at the door, I can do a quick switcheroo and have a nice clean apron on in a flash! My swap partner is Jeanne and part of the swap was a dish towel (matching). It's super cute too - She was also really sweet and included a great CD she mixed up of summer themed tunes. They include some of my favorites by James Taylor and John Denver, and a couple I hadn't heard before. I love it!
Another thing - and I don't want to hear any grief about it... We decided what was best for our family. I knew we wouldn't be able to wait long before we got another dog. Look at who joined our family this weekend!

Meet Buster - he's a Cairn Terrier... just like Toto from the Wizard of Oz. He's super-sweet and great with the kids. He's 10 months old, housetrained, and great on a leash. He's a lot different than Colby, especially because he's only 10lbs, and it will take some adjusting to this new little dog, but so far he's working his way into our hearts pretty easily, and the adjustment is going well as far as I can tell!

GAH! I take a snooze and I miss the giveaway! Oh, if I could make aprons I'd totally be a part of the swap - that apron is so super snazzy, it almost makes me want to cook or something!

dear dear dear emily,

I just got my apron and I can't tell you how much I love it. Well, OK, I'll try. Can I tell you that I made the Emmaline for my own swap partner???? and, I'm having such trouble letting it go (er, it'll be in the mail tomorrow!). But, it was so much fun to sew on it and I thought I have to make this for me!!!!!!! But, no -- here it is!!!!!!!!!! Mine!!!!!!!!! In the most beautiful colors and softest hand. Oh, how I love it so!!!! Want to hear something weird???? The dishtowel I'm sending is also a muslin one. I did the border in the orange of my fabric. I adore what you did on it and the little tiny "Em." OhmygoodnessIjustlovelovelovethis apron!!!!! I will treasure it always. Your secret sharer/twin in Raleigh,

Colleen

We have a Buster in our house too - a black lab, border collie cross. We couldn't resist him when we saw him at the SPCA. Welcome to yours!
